ACTS is a Bible-based, Spirit-filled, Christian church - Apostolic in pattern and authority - whose template is the New Testament book of Acts. The  acronym "ACTS" (for Apostolic Church of Truth & Spirit) is how our church is widely known. Our heritage is Pentecostal, and we teach the necessity and unmatched glory of receiving the "born again" experience, just as the Apostles and the first church experienced. And that experience is for us today!

ACTS is a church dedicated to the urgent cause of winning the lost - locally and around the world! Because of these turbulent times, ACTS is a church dedicated to end time evangelization.  We financially support Home and Foreign Missions, and offer ministries that reach a range of our constituency. Among them are Acquire the Fire teen group meetings, YouthQuake youth rallies, yearly Back To School Prayer Rallies in September, Women of Worth, Daughters of Zion, Men's Fellowship Bowling, Junior & Senior Bible Quizzing, Target 120 Evangelism Outreach, and Home Bible Study programs.  Our yearly booth and music participation at the Metuchen Country Fair is a great opportunity for the Metuchen/Edison communities and ACTS to meet!  

In spite of the present age where self-gratification is the norm, we are adamant about re-prioritizing Jesus' place in our worship, in our ministering, in our daily lives. In 2007 we're making it "all about Jesus"! 

In launching ACTS House2House cell groups at various members' homes, we have created localized environments where Jesus and His teachings and principles are shared in  casual, non-threatening and engaging settings, using practical and topical themes. This "cell group" format has been successful where it's been introduced, and many lives have been transformed in such settings.  The group meetings fall on alternating Tuesday nights at 7:30. We stress that the Church is not merely a tradition or obligation, or something one is "born into", but rather a "new identity in Jesus" and a "lifestyle of transformation", whereby the redeemed assemble to worship the Lord Jesus Christ in spirit and in truth, and to receive the Word of God as spiritual preparation to undertake the Kingdom Commission to reach out to others as His ambassadors. 

We welcome and allow the Holy Ghost to groom us to become active in various facets of Church ministry, support, operation and outreach.  We are fully persuaded that God will empower every faith-filled, repentant believer in Jesus Christ with His promised Holy Spirit to become victors over adversities, and not remain victims!
